Crossroads Disco
For children in years 5, 6 and 7, the Crossroads disco is a fun and safe night out. It is fully supervised by adult volunteers from the parish. Tickets cost $10 and can only be bought in advance – not at the door.
The disco runs from 7.30 to 10.30 on Friday night, eight times a year. The dates for 2010 are: February 19, March 19, May 21, June 18, August 20, September 17, October 15, November 19.
Tickets go on sale the previous Thursday afternoon from 2.30 - 4.30pm until sold out. If not sold out by 4.30pm, contact the Parish Office between 10.00 and 4.00 on Friday.
St John's Fete
St John's Fete is to be held in the grounds of St Johns on Saturday November 7th 2009
Occasional activities
From the educational to the social, St John's has activities for all ages.
- A special blessing service in January for children about to start school in Prep or year 7
- Extra services on Ash Wednesday
- Easter Feast with a Greek flavour on Easter Day
- St John's Day patronal festival celebrations (First Sunday in May). One service only at 10.00 am with chicken-and-champagne brunch to follow
- Parish Picnic and annual all-comers Cricket Match in November. Postponed until January 2010
- book group, theatre parties, and occasional just-for-fun activities
- study groups to learn more about Christian faith, history and ministry
